FHS Alumni Facilitator

Roger Powell, FHS Class of 1954, has been the Alumni Director for 11 years. His duties include; keeping a current database of all alumni, supplying other school departments with alumni addresses, organizing two alumni musicals each year with proceeds going to the Alumni Scholarship Fund, other events include: annual chicken BBQ, alumni basketball game, Veteran's Dinner, selecting a FHS Alum of the week, and outstanding Alumni of the year. The Alumni Association also keeps a FHS historical library, helps coordinate class reunions, and publishes a newsletter every August - mailed to over 17,000 alumni, plus other miscellaneous duties
Roger was in all the musicals while in high school including some solo contests. Attended Findlay College (The University of Findlay). He was the Assistant Store Manager of Lasalle's Department Store Downtown (later Macy's and Elder Beerman), retired from The Courier after 30 years in advertising sales and marketing, leaving as Director of both of these departments. |

Barb Logsdon is a 1978 Graduate of Findlay High School. She is married to Mike Logsdon, also a 1978 Graduate of Findlay High School. She has two children Jeremy currently attending the University of Cincinnati and Nikki attending Bowling Green State University. Both children graduated from Findlay High School. She is employed at Marathon Petroleum Company LLC and active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Carol Long was born and raised in Findlay going to Washington Elementary, Glenwood Jr. High, and FHS, graduating in 1958. I married my high school sweetheart, Joe, in 1960 and we have 2 children, Debra, class of '80 and Steven, class of '81, who also attended Findlay City Schools.
I went to Columbus Cosmetology School in Columbus and worked 5 years at Vel-James Beauty Salon. Then I worked at First Federal Savings & Loan for 20 years, retiring in 1988.
I now enjoy retirement by bowling, playing cards and Mah Jong with high school friends, traveling with friends and enjoying our cats. |

Roberta Stober is a born & raised Findlay native, having attended McKinley Elementary, Central Junior High, and graduating from Findlay High School in 1972. She attended Davis College in Toledo receiving an Associate Degree in Executive Secretarial. She has worked at Differential Steel Car Company, Fifth Third Bank, Findlay City Schools, and the City of Findlay. She participates in the FHS Alumni Band and enjoys playing her clarinet with The University of Findlay Symphonic Band. Roberta has assisted in the FHS Alumni office for six years. She is a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, enjoys scrapbooking, quilting, and traveling to many different countries including five trips to Japan. Roberta escapes Ohio winters in Surprise, Arizona. |

Beth Waddell - FHS Graduate of 1977, BGSU Graduate of 1981, Branch Manager, Huntington Bank, Tiffin Ave., Findlay, 2 sons: Matt and Alex.
Community Involvement: Board of Directors American Red Cross - Board Liason; Class of 1992 Hancock Leadership Alumni Association; Past board members of the American Cancer Society; Chairman of the Relay for Life; volunteer for The Arts Partnership; United Way; and Partners in Education.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience as a child attending Lincoln School, the Donnell Junior High and finally Findlay High School. I am fortunate to have many friends who I attended these schools with who are close friends. I look forward to help expanding the alumni association so recent graduating classes see the value and fun in planning reunions; and to keep the legacy of the Findlay High School spirit growing.
My motto is "I do not live in the past, but I celebrate it!!!!" |

Garth Brown graduated with honors from Loyola University in Chicago, and Drake Law School. He is a partner with Drake, Kuenzli and Clark.
As a community advocate, he has served with the United Way Annual Campaign, and for nine years has served on the Benton Ridge Telephone Company Board of Directors. He was elected as a City Councilman in Findlay for two terms. Garth has been a member of the Volunteer Lawyers Project and has helped with We the People teams and participated with Communications Interviews at FHS. Garth lives in Liberty Township with his wife Carmen and daughters Mikalya and Aubrey who like their father, a Findlay First Edition alum and former FHS Soccer player are very involved locally in music and sports. |

Karen (Hemker) Crawford
Raised in Findlay since 1966.
Schools Attended: 1-8 St. Michaels/ 9 Glenwood/ 10-12 FHS class of '78
Parents: Dick and Marilyn Hemker of Findlay sisters/reside in Findlay- Deb Ammons class of '79 and Terri Kempher class of '80 husband is Jeff, Vanlue class of '76 and married 27 years 3 sons: Brook, a senior at Ohio Northern University, Quinn and Cody, both students at Bowling Green State University.
Occupations: 19 yrs. a school bus driver- presently at Liberty Benton schools. Along with my husband- own and operate House of Awards and Sports store here in Findlay since 2000. |
