Girls Basketball Alumni News
Dannyel Butte, a 2009 graduate of Findlay High School, is a freshman starting guard at Ohio Christian University this season. Her team won the Ohio Collegiate Athletic Conference (OCAC) for the first time. Dannyel lead the team with 18 points and 7 rebounds in the conference final game, which earned her the right to be selected to the OCAC All-Tournament Team. At the OCAC Banquet, Dannyel was also selected to the 2nd Team All-OCAC for the season. In addition, she was named to the NCCAA Mid-East Region 1st Team. The Ohio Christian Lady Blazers finished the season 24-5 and tied for 1st in the NCCAA national rankings with Kentucky Christian, best in school history. They currently await for National Tournament qualification results.
Dannyel has started all 29 games for the Lady Blazers. She averages 12 points per game (34% from 3-pt line), 6 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 3.4 assists per game. Her total of 108 steals so far is an Ohio Christian University record for steals in a single season.
